What is Drafting?

Welcome, aspiring Planeswalkers, to the thrilling world of Magic: The Gathering Booster Draft! If you're new to this electrifying format, fear not – The Brewer Invitational is the perfect place to learn and conquer.

In a draft, you won't use a pre-constructed deck. Instead, you'll open fresh booster packs and build your deck on the fly! Here's how it works:

Each player sits around a table with three booster packs. You open one pack, pick one card to keep for your deck, and then pass the rest of the cards to the player next to you. You'll receive a pack from the player on your other side, pick a card, and pass again! This continues until all cards from the first round of packs are gone. Then, you open the second pack, reverse the passing direction, and repeat. Finally, the third pack is opened, and you pass in the original direction again.

The challenge? Adapting! You need to read signals from other players, identify open colors, and construct a powerful 40-card deck (including basic lands, which we'll provide!) using only the cards you draft. It's a true test of skill, strategy, and improvisation!

The $20 Entry Fee - Why Pay the Man?

The $20 entry fee for The Brewer Invitational helps us keep the lights on and the magic flowing! Here's what your entry covers:

• Prize Support: The majority of the entry fee goes directly into the prize pool. The champion will receive a coveted **Foundations Bundle**, packed with exciting cards to boost their collection!
• Booster Packs: It covers the cost of the three fresh "Foundations" booster packs you'll use for drafting.
• Event Operations: This helps with the general organization of the tournament, including pairing software, basic land provision, and ensuring a smooth, fun experience for everyone.
